Hello Dreamer,

I think it's a vicous circle. The less you eat or try not to eat the more you will be likely to binge.

I went round in that circle for years and can still fall into the trap now if I stop paying atention to my needs or start flat out ignoring them.

I tend to need to eat every couple of hours. Often when you are in recovery from a binging disorder you are recomended to not go more than a couple of hours and to have regular eating times.

I know the rules are very tricky to work around. We have them for two reasons. One to not trigger or upset people and two not to give people ideas. I know that can make people feel unable to express things.

Try not to mention any brand names or specific diets just fo legal reasons. Apart from that I think it will would really help you to write down what your days eating etc has been like recently.

If it would be easier you can email your post to me and I will look it over for you and let you know if there is anything unsuitable for posting. If that would be easier.

hi
maybe this moving away wasnt such a good idea...im barely eating...too scared to and just i think because i have lost the structure of having dinner and that made at home or being told to eat and now i dont and my heads saying dont so yer you can all guess. um i dunno what to do really. i have inductions at college on thursday and friday but nothing to do before that..so im just sitting in my room or downstairs, i went into town and walk around yesterday sat on the harbour wall in the sunshine was lovely and i felt at such peace but i felt lonely really lonely.

Hello Patch,

Did you get my reply to your message on Sunday?

How are you feeling today?

Everything you are going through now is understandable. How would you feel about writing a food plan Patch? Having a plan might really help you to get into a routine.

Can you also try and plan some nice things for yourself? Maybe organize a night out with your room mates and also some pampering for yourself?

I know right now things feel bad but I truelly believe this change will be for the best for you in the long term and will help you to find happiness and stability. Try and think of it as a rocky part on the road to recovery that you will get through and move past rather than being a dead end.

um im ok barely slept just lay in bed.
i got your message and read it but have forgotten what it said sorry am useless.
i dont mind about writing a food plan but dont have a clue as to what to put in it and tbh i would probably be useless at following it.
i dont feel like going out tbh i just want to hide in bed keep out of their way.

I'm sorry to hear you are struggling with binging at the moment.

Try and take care of yourself.

Do something nice for yourself today if you can. Rent a funy dvd, have a bubble bath. Anything that makes you feel good.

Hello Patch,

Maybe write yourself a time table as your food plan. Meals and snacks. Just make some rough times. For example my times are always 5is, 6ish. Lunch time 12, 1. Breakfast 8, 9. It helps me to rough set times as it helps to establish a routine.

Don't be too hard on yourself. If you need to just chill out alone today thenlet yourself do that but do something nice for yourself if you do.

Tomorrow is a new day.

my house mate and his mate took me to play pitch and putt today was a good laugh and really enjoyed it...just going to chill tonight and think im going to go make some dinner now

hi ,

my eating has just been a bit all over the place. some mornings i ahev had breakfast, some i havent, the same with all the meals really, and then i normally find myself hungry and eat junk, like take away or fast food. then feel bad.

today, i have really tried with the water, and i have had lunch, but it made me feel really queasy. im not sure why. i may be coming down with something, but i feel awful. so i dont want anything else now, cause im at work and i dont want to end up ill here if i have a bug or something.

feeling very down and stuck in one place, i dont seem to be able to move forward..

Hello Dreamer,

Try and remember that skipping meals sets you up for binging. The only way to avoid binging is to eat normally and regularly. It's hard but keep telling yourself that.

With the feeling sick I used to get that after eating. It's psychological. Don't let it stop you from eating your next meal.

It's hard to make the changes needed to move forward but you can do it.

I love this saying... "If you always do what you've always done, You'll always get what you've always got". It's very true. ;)

Hello Dreamer,

It takes time to get past that stage and even now when I am stressed I feel sick when I eat. It helps to just work it through. Tell yourself that you are feeling ill because you are stressed. It's a reaction to stress not the food. It really does help.

I really like that quote too. It's one of the ones that helps me when I struggle.

Sometimes when you get out of the routine of going somewhere it's hard to go back but with some support next week could be easier.
